Description
The sculpture, produced by Ariffin Moh Ismail, was built in the garden area of ??the National Planetarium Building with the title "Time and Space" (1994). The sculpture was constructed using a material of stainless steel, with a height of 20 feet and a width of 14 feet. According to Ariffin Mohd Ismail (2010), the sculpture was produced based on the phenomenon of Islamization that hit the country in the 1980s and then in the 1990s. This sculpture is related to the architectural concept of the Planetarium building which highlights the architectural elements characteristic of Islam. With a design that rejects the properties of mass, the “Time and Space” sculpture focuses on sculptures that are formed from elements of line and appearance, which in turn can produce the properties of shape that reject the pull of gravity.

IPOH: PERAK has unveiled the “Ipoh Mural Art” trail map which showcases the artworks in seven locations in the city here. This two hour-long trail will cover places from Jalan Tun Sambanthan to Jalan Bandar Timah-Jalan Panglima-Jalan Bijeh Timah-Jalan Market and Jalan Sultan Iskandar, before ending at Jalan Masjid. Most of the mural arts are drawn by local artists Eric Lai, Bryan Tan, Chris Chow and Mohd Najib Zainudin. Even the famed Ernest Zacharevic from Lithuania had contributed his efforts in creating a mural piece for Ipoh.
