Description
PERAK PAINTERS ASSOCIATION is a leading art association registered in the State of Perak which collects children of artists born and working in the state of Perak. PERAK PAINTERS ASSOCIATION is a continuation of Angkatan Pelukis Darul Ridzuan which was officially established in 1996 and later changed to Perak State Painters and Art Lovers Association in 2011 and most recently its name was changed to PERSATUAN PELUKIS PERAK in accordance with the development of art in the country. At the beginning of its establishment, its members were only around 20 people and the first advisor of the PERAK PAINTERS ASSOCIATION was YM Raja Azaham (Former Curator of the Perak Museum) and the second was Dato 'Mahsun B. Hj. Taib (Former Deputy State Secretary of Perak). The latest advisor is Ybhg Dato 'Kamil Syafie (Former YB Terong). The association's operating location at that time was at Galeri Pior Perak opposite the Riverfront Hotel Ipoh Perak.

Mural art trail crosses city

IPOH: PERAK has unveiled the “Ipoh Mural Art” trail map which showcases the artworks in seven locations in the city here. This two hour-long trail will cover places from Jalan Tun Sambanthan to Jalan Bandar Timah-Jalan Panglima-Jalan Bijeh Timah-Jalan Market and Jalan Sultan Iskandar, before ending at Jalan Masjid. Most of the mural arts are drawn by local artists Eric Lai, Bryan Tan, Chris Chow and Mohd Najib Zainudin. Even the famed Ernest Zacharevic from Lithuania had contributed his efforts in creating a mural piece for Ipoh.
